Kumi Guitar out with “Problem”

$

When he released “Mmaa Time” some two years ago, many guys were not enthused about the message in the song as they thought it was a song to look down on men and how it is perceived they treat women. The stories were endless with experiences from all angles including media people and radio presenters as well.

Two years down the lane, the Zylofon signed artiste Kumi Guitar feels it`s now time for him to turn the table and to do something for the guys too as Ebony seems to have given the ladies another hype in her banger called Sponsor.

In this song called Problem, delivered in a mid tempo high life vein, Kumi talks about ladies being over dependent on men whilst pointing to them that the people who are to take care of them should be their fathers and mothers (parents). With a little play of words, Kumi delivers nicely and we hope it`s a song for the streets, pubs, parties aka feel good song leading us to Christmas and all the events around.

Produced by Zylofon Media by our producer Linkin Beats, Kumi Guitar wrote and performed the song alone. Enjoy it and feel free to call Zylofon media for your questions and enquiries about the message 0244- 422-726

Weakened Mexican team beat Ghana 1-0

Mexico emerged triumphant against Ghana thanks to Elias Hernandez’s 32nd-minute penalty at NRG Stadium in the United States on Wednesday.

A second-string Mexico team battled to a 1-0 win over Ghana in an international friendly in Houston.

With Mexico’s stars Javier Hernandez, Carlos Vela, Hirving Lozano, Giovani dos Santos and Andres Guardado away in Russia preparing for Thursday’s Confederations Cup semi-final against Germany, Wednesday’s fixture was a chance for the CONCACAF Gold Cup squad to impress.

And the Mexicans emerged triumphant thanks to Elias Hernandez’s 32nd-minute penalty at NRG Stadium in the United States.

Luis Pompilio Paez – Juan Carlos Osorio’s assistant – oversaw proceedings in Houston. The team – made up of players based in Mexico – only had six men with 10 caps or more as Hugo Ayala, Jesus Molina, Moises Munoz, Jesus Duenas and Hernandez were named in the starting XI.

Former Sunderland star Asamoah Gyan was named on the bench as Isaac Sackey made his debut in the absence of Andre and Jordan Ayew following Ghana’s 5-0 victory over Ethiopia in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on June 11.

Ghana settled quickest of the two teams but Mexico soon found their rhythm as Rodolfo Pizarro wasted two good opportunities.

Pizarro received the ball outside of the penalty area, turned onto his right foot and flashed a shot just wide of the post in the fourth minute.

It should have been 1-0 six minutes later but Pizarro fluffed his lines after he was played in by Angel Sepulveda’s delightful backheel.

Ghana had chances of their own as Frank Acheampong cut his way past two opponents and shot wide of the post, while Moises was forced into a fine diving save by Majeed Waris.

Mexico’s attacking play did result in a goal just past the half-hour mark after Jesus Gallardo was taken down by John Boye in the penalty area and Hernandez made no mistake from the spot – his first international goal since scoring in a friendly against Colombia in September 2010.

It was not all smooth sailing for Mexico, who were forced into a substitution before half-time. After receiving treatment following a head collision, Munoz succumbed to injury, replaced by fellow veteran Jesus Corona, who was kept busy until the break.

The second half was not as free-flowing amid the raft of substitutions, but Ghana still had chances to level proceedings.

Ghana’s best opportunity fell to Acheampong with 12 minutes remaining but he was thwarted by the woodwork. The Anderlecht attacker had Corona beaten but his ferocious effort cannoned off the post.

Mosquito Premiere On Discovery Channel On July 6

As many in the world prepare for the warm summer months, Discovery will use its global reach to focus the world’s attention on the single greatest agent of death in modern human history: the mosquito.

The global crisis is highlighted in the worldwide premiere of the upcoming Discovery Impact film MOSQUITO, Thursday, July 6th at 7pm, on Discovery Channel and Discovery networks around the world.

Recent news coverage around the globe has highlighted individual outbreaks of diseases such as Zika, malaria, West Nile virus, yellow fever, chikungunya, and dengue. But there is a bigger story to be told; one that connects the dots between these diseases and reveals how a single force is driving them all: the unceasing, accelerating expansion of the mosquito around the globe, driven by factors such as increasing global travel and trade, and a warmer world that is more hospitable to mosquitos.

MOSQUITO is a timely in-depth look at this very tiny, very dangerous creature, and how it is changing in unpredictable and unprecedented ways.  Narrated by Academy Award® nominated actor Jeremy Renner (“The Town,” “The Hurt Locker,”) the film chronicles the increasing global threat this tiny animal poses and the potential lethal ramifications without a worldwide coordinated effort.  The film features interviews with leading experts including former CDC director Dr. Thomas Frieden and Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation who points out that the resources required to fight an outbreak relative to the level of death that could result from a fatal pandemic makes this a clear global health priority.

“For more than 30 years, Discovery’s mission has been to ignite viewers’ curiosity, spark dialogue and encourage action on critical topics through our world-class storytelling and brands across 220 countries and territories,” says David Zaslav, President and CEO of Discovery Communications.

“MOSQUITO sounds a worldwide alarm about the need for bold steps to address this increasingly urgent threat. As a purpose-driven company, we are proud to leverage the strength of our unmatched television and digital services in all corners of the globe to call on citizens and worldwide leaders alike to act.”

“Discovery is at its best taking a global problem and showcasing its effects on individuals and their local communities,” says Rich Ross, Group President, Discovery, Animal Planet, Science Channel, and Velocity.  “The spread of mosquito-borne illnesses in places they have never been has the potential to change the world as we know it. MOSQUITO shines a spotlight on this rapidly moving issue, giving audiences the tools to understand and prepare for a new world.”

Mosquitos kill more than 750,000 people a year, many of whom are children.  Today, rapid environmental shifts like climate change and the ease of international travel for both humans and goods have only increased the threat mosquitos pose, hastening their spread around the globe.  As deadly mosquitos are now reaching and surviving in places they have never –  including Florida and Texas, and as far north as Washington D.C. and New York, they are bringing diseases like Zika, dengue, and yellow fever to uncharted and unprepared parts of the world.  Shot on four continents, MOSQUITO weaves together expert interviews with the intimate stories of the men, women, and children who are living in fear that the next bite could be a deadly one.

The first human cases of Zika migrated out of Africa and into Malaysia in 1967. Forty years later, Zika had its first outbreak in Micronesia, causing the disease’s spread through the Pacific Islands to Brazil in 2014. The first reported case of Zika in Puerto Rico was in December 2015.  A year later more than 34,000 people carried the disease.  Now over 2.5 billion people are at risk for a potential outbreak of that illness alone, which could cost the world over 500 billion dollars. These alarming numbers are a predictor of what could happen if worldwide health leaders today do not convene and act. And while some progress has been made against mosquito-borne illness, half of the world’s population remains at risk for malaria and other deadly diseases.  MOSQUITO profiles a father and son from a remote village in Kenya. The father, wondering why even with their malaria nets they both have contracted the disease, carries his son on his back for to a hospital while neglecting his own care.  In addition, the film highlights, Leslie Meiners, a mother from Queens, NY who contracted West Nile virus in her own neighborhood. “I never thought it would happen to me. West Nile virus, in this modern-day society,” states Meiners in the film.   “It is like playing Russian Roulette. I lost at that game.”

Most devastating is the story of a young mother from Brazil, Ane Júliana Araújo, who is caring for a baby born with Zika while fearing the disease may affect her unborn child.   Former CDC director Frieden says in the film that, “There are so many diseases that can be spread by mosquitos.  We are going to have to come up with new, better combined ways to stopping the mosquito to protect ourselves not just from Zika… but also whatever else might come next.”

In conjunction with the worldwide TV broadcast, Discovery and CARE2 are collaborating on a petition calling citizens worldwide to drive leaders to act before it is too late. In addition to airing in over 220 countries and territories around the globe, MOSQUITO will also air in Spanish on Discovery’s Spanish-language channel, Discovery en Español.

Just prior to its Discovery global broadcast premiere, MOSQUITO will have a World Premiere Spotlight Screening at the prestigious AFI Docs Film Festival on June 15. The film premieres under the Discovery Impact banner, a series of trailblazing documentaries focusing on humankind’s impact on the environment, and what individuals and communities can do to solve global problems.

MOSQUITO is a Yap Films Production produced for Discovery Channel; directed by Su Rynard; executive producers, Elliott Halpern and Elizabeth Trojian; editors, Michele Francis and Steve Weslak; cinematography by, Mark Elam; writer, Mark Monroe; original music by, Tom Third; Associate Producer, Alex Rankin.  For Discovery:  supervising producer, Jon Bardin; executive producer, John Hoffman.

Viewers can look out for the global premiere of  MOSQUITO that will simulcast across Africa on Discovery Channel and Discovery Family on Thursday,  6th July at 7pm and repeats on Animal Planet Friday, 7th July at 7pmas well as Discovery Science on Saturday, 8th July at 7pm.

In a brand new eight-part series, renowned BBC World News presenter, Zeinab Badawi, travels to the land of her birth to discover some of Africa’s most treasured history.

The continent of Africa has a long, complex history, and its people built civilizations which rivalled those which existed anywhere else in the world. However, much of the continent’s history is not widely known, and the little that is known often projects a distorted, partial picture.

Sudan-born Zeinab travels to all four corners of Africa, interviewing historians, archaeologists, and citizens whose stories paint a vivid picture of their continent’s past and how it informs their present lives.

Zeinab Badawi said: “There is so much breadth and depth to Africa’s history, but little of it is told by Africans. That’s why this series is so important and so unique – it shapes perceptions of the continent and paints a picture that is very different to people’s preconceived ideas in today’s world. After decades of turmoil and uncertainty, a new Africa is emerging. The old stereotypes are being challenged and a new, compelling narrative is being written. It’s a privilege to present a programme that will provide solid coverage and analysis of Africa’s challenges and prospects.”

Mary Wilkinson, Head of Commissioning at BBC World News, said: “The History of Africa with Zeinab Badawi will be a revelation to audiences around the world. It’s an enormous, fascinating subject that deserves this sort of ambitious, in-depth treatment. Zeinab’s passion and compelling storytelling makes this a series not to be missed.”

For eight weeks, beginning on the 1st July, History of Africa will air on BBC World News, every Saturday at 02:10 & 15:10 GMT and every Sunday at 09:10 & 21:10 GMT.

Among the performers on the night were Ghanaian Musician/Mogul D-Black who invited Sulley Muntari on stage to interact with the bubbling crowd halfway through his performance.

While on stage, D-Black appealed to Sulley Muntari to consider playing for the Ghana National Football team “Black Stars” once again and the crowd apparently cheered on in support of what D-Black said. Sulley Muntari however refrained from responding on the topic and rather gave some words of advice in Hausa to the muslim dominated crowd.

It also served as the ideal dialogue platform for the advocacy of a comprehensive policy and legal direction for elevating the standards of widows in the country as well as.

Activities at the conference among other things included medical screening, talk on the need to abolish evil widowhood practices, talk on women empowerment, singing and dancing by widow groups and mini trade fair. Judge: Bill Cosby’s retrial set for November

Bill Cosby will be retried in November on charges he drugged and molested a woman more than a decade ago, after a Pennsylvania jury deadlocked on the question after deliberating over six days.

Cosby, who turns 80 in July, was ordered Thursday to be ready for trial on Nov. 6.

He is accused of giving a women he met three pills that knocked her out before sexually assaulting her at his home near Philadelphia. Cosby did not testify at the trial, but in a deposition in the woman’s civil suit called the encounter consensual.

Accuser Andrea Constand testified for seven hours over two days. She said she never gave the actor and comedian consent to engage in sex acts with her. Instead, she said, she considered him a mentor. She was a 31-year-old operations director for the women’s basketball team at Temple University, where he, then 66, was a TV icon and the school’s most famous booster.

Her lawyer said she took the deadlock “better than anybody” and is not afraid to confront Cosby in court again.

“She will be absolutely ready,” said Dolores Troiani, Constand’s lawyer. “She wants to see justice done and she wants to see this through. She was in the courtroom (after the deadlock) comforting everyone else.”

Bill Cosby judge says jurors’ identities can be released. Brian Taff reports during Action News at 4 p.m. on June 21, 2017.

Prosecutors found themselves back to square one June 17 after the judge declared a mistrial. The jury failed to reach a verdict in more than 52 hours of deliberations.

Cosby, in his deposition, acknowledged giving a string of young women pills or alcohol before sexual encounters over the past 50 years.

District Attorney Kevin Steele, who pursued the case after an earlier district attorney declined to press charges in 2005, is determined to put Cosby on trial again. Constand went to police in January 2005 to say Cosby had drugged and violated her a year earlier. She left Temple in March 2004 to return home to suburban Toronto. She is now a massage therapist.

“In my head, I was trying to get my hands to move or my legs to move, but I was frozen,” Constand, now 44-year-old, said in their long-awaited courtroom confrontation. “I wasn’t able to fight in any way.”

Defense lawyers Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa declined comment Thursday on whether they would be aboard for the retrial. Cosby’s publicist did not immediately return a call for comment.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are sexual assault victims unless they give permission, which Constand has done.

Kanye West, Drake, Diddy were discriminated against by Atlanta Hawks Security

A group of black entertainers including Kanye West, Drake, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Cedric the Entertainer were victimized by the discriminatory practices of the Atlanta Hawks security staff, according to a lawsuit brought by a former member of the security team.

In his lawsuit, brought in federal court in Georgia on Monday, Samuel R. Hayes III says that he was hired as manager of security operations in August 2016, handling the day-to-day security at Philips Arena and for the Hawks. The suit says that Hayes began to notice that security practices vacillated along racial lines.

“Throughout Plaintiff’s employment at the Atlanta Hawks, Plaintiff noticed that the security measures were enforced, or not enforced, based on race,” the lawsuit, which identifies Hayes as black, says.

Over and over again, the suit states, black entertainers were subjected to full security measures, while white artists got a pass. In August 2016, for instance, Drake and Future were denied when they asked to bypass metal detectors, while a week later, at an AC/DC show, Axl Rose was allowed to bypass them.

The lawsuit goes on to list numerous alleged examples; while Combs, West and Cedric the Entertainer were all shot down when they asked to bypass the metal detectors, white entertainers such as Amy Schumer, Ariana Grande and Adele were given a pass.

According to the suit, Hayes complained, and was told, “white acts bring in more money.”

The suit also says that Hayes was warned that people perceive him as “aggressive” because he is “a large black man with an intimidating voice and commanding presence,” and was advised to “watch [his] tone” when talking to others.

Hayes goes on to allege that he was fired in April for trumped-up reasons, in retaliation against him.

Alleging race discrimination and retaliation, the suit seeks unspecified damages.

In a statement to TheWrap on Thursday, the Hawks’ chief diversity and inclusion officer Nzinga Shaw denied the allegations in the lawsuit.

“Samuel Hayes is a former security manager at Philips Arena,” Shaw said. “He was terminated for poor performance and his claims are baseless. We will defend vigorously.”
