“Take it how you want if you want to take it”, Nenebi quoted 2Chainz when he was asked if whether his works should called poems or songs by host Sammy Flex on AM Pluzz (a morning show on Pluzz 89.9FM).
The host was questioning him on why he used poem and song interchangeably to describe his works. According to the poet and songwriter, his works has both spoken word delivery and singing so any labeling could fit them.
“I’m a poet, I do poetry but the work as to whether they are poems or songs, I will live it for the listeners to judge because I write musical choruses for other people to do on my recordings”, Nenebi further explained citing his works, Me, My Selfie and Eyes featuring Mzbel and Sandra Claus (Chlistmas in Kumasi), both of which were premiered on the show as examples.
George Quaye, host of The Pundit on GhOne TV called into the show to commend Nenebi, describing him as a “very talented young man” and asked him to define his artwork for his listeners to which he responded with, “I am a spoken word artist. I’m a poet, I call what I do ‘Afropop Poetry’ but I still maintain that I want the listeners to call it what they want to”.

Sally Frimpong-Manso, a panelist on the show called Nenebi’s unique style of combining poetry recital and singing as “refreshing and different”.
She wasn’t amused by his appearance and speech ability (he cleared that he had a stammering problem) but suggested he focused on reaching out to corporate brands.
Another panelist, Justice Oteng, a producer, said he was moved by Nenebi’s delivery but commended Mzbel’s singing saying, “I have never heard Mzbel exhibit such skills. I was blown away. I believe she has more talent under her sleeves”.
The other two panelists, Mr. Logic and DJ Willie Roy, were both full of praise for his unique style.
Nenebi released Me, My Selfie and Eyes featuring Mzbel last week as the second single from his debut album, See Me Naked.
