The 5th edition of the official music rivalry showdown concert dubbed the Ghana Meets Naija sponsored by Tigo has been launched.
The show, this year organized under the theme “Unleashing Unlimited Music”, promises to be exciting with the inclusion of Tigo as the headline sponsors.
The Tigo Ghana Meets Naija put together by event powerhouse Empire Entertainment owned by the CEO of Starr FM, Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi also known as Bola Ray over the years have been used in fostering and promoting collaborations between Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes.
Representing the Red, Gold and Green with Black Star is Ghana’s triple threat of showstopper Sarkodie, controversial Shatta Wale and finest Stonebwoy.
The Green, White and Green colours of Nigeria will be ably represented by the 7-man Mavins Crew headed by Don Jazzy for the show slated for Saturday, 23rd May 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The Crew behind the hit “Dorobucci” and “Adaboi” makes their first ever appearance on Ghanaian stage and expected to thrill the patrons and represent the Naija “no dey carry last” slogan.
According to the organisers of the show, “this year will be even more spectacular and is surest to give music fans an experience to truly relish.”
“The fervour with which the Ghana Meets Naija vision was realised in our first edition still shines through as we celebrate five years of bringing you a premium entertainment experience. All patrons will have a story to tell after they indulge in this year’s event, Tigo Ghana Meets Naija 2015,” the General Manager of Empire Group of Companies, Ms Laillah Crystal Banda said.
Representing the headline sponsors, Jesse Agyepong, the Head of Marketing for Tigo Ghana said Tigo’s association with this event is in line with the company’s commitment to support the music and entertainment industry in Ghana. It is also to create platforms for local musicians to showcase their talent.
He added that, they will continue to be part of the art industry because “we believe that promoting of our artistes is an important part of the growth of the music industry in Ghana.”
Over the years, Tigo Ghana Meets Naija, has been known as the platform for the biggest artistes in both Ghana and Nigeria to share one stage and thrill music lovers from both countries.
This year’s event is also supported by UniBank, Hennessy, Flight Centre, Oak Plaza Hotel, Africa World Airlines, Best Western Hotel, Enovate and Euro Star limousines.
