Tinny as known in the hiplife and Ghana Music fraternity is one act who has sustained fame and relevance since his mainstream breakthrough “Makola Kwakwe”  in 2003 under the OM Studios Music Label  with Hammer Of The Last Two as the main producer of his songs.

He is known by birth as Nii Addo Quaynor (born January 19, 1982) and grew in Osu, a suburb of Accra. He is a strong music voice and one of the pioneers with the Ga language in rap music. He has five studio albums to his credit:  Makola Kwakwe (2003), Aletste (2005), Kaa Bu Ame (2007), Attention (2008) and Regular Champion (2013).

He has Kankpe Records, a music label establishment to his credit which produced his subsequent albums after his first debut album, Makola Kwakwe.

Not every music artist globally can hold the fort after a breakthrough hit. But Tinny has lived up to that challenge and stands tall even with commencements of some new music artiste with the same Ga rap style.

He was featured as a surprise performer at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and patrons and viewers will attest that he put up a great performance. At a point, I asked myself if it was a main concert staged for him.

From his entrance on stage to his stage works and microphone control to interact back and forth with the audience was well crafted. Indeed he knows his trade and proved that he is the father of his game “Aletse!”

In 2004 he won Young Musician of the Year at the Youth Excellence Awards and he also won the Ghana Music Awards both home and in the UK for the New Artiste Category.

In 2009, he won the African Artiste of the Year at the Hip Hop World Awards. He also has some international nominations to his credit from the MOBO Awards to the Channel O Music Video Awards.

Tinny also has a good taste to fashion. He never leaves his hat or cap and always keeps a young and trendy look.

Aletse-Tinny is one music artists that need to be celebrated if there was a Hiplife /Hip Hop version of the Legends and Legacy Ball.
